Google Ads allows you to promote your products and services when and where people are searching for them. Google receives over 5.6 billion searches per day and over 59% of shoppers use Google to research a product or service before purchasing. Unfortunately, Google Ads provides few standalone capabilities for account-based marketing.

Learn how to properly integrate 6sense with Google ads, so that you can implement an account-based marketing strategy that will significantly improve performance and give you a leg up on your competition!

This is very good information, though GA4 is making some of this particularly tricky. As it stands, user property fields are limited to a whopping 36 characters. That's maybe a few segment names tops if you're clever with naming conventions.

Are there plans for dealing with this moving forward?

Also, how will the Google Ads integration announced at Breakthrough work? If it allows me to sidestep GA4's limitations, I'm already thrilled. 😀

  • @Brandon McBride One workaround for the character cap could be cloning the Segment that you want to send to GA4 with a shorter name so "Target Accounts NorthEast Manufacturing 6QAs" becomes "TA-NE-Manu-6QAs". You could also have a specific GA4 folder or tag to help organize them.

Still Beta testing the 6sense Segments for Google Ads but it should help with this use case. More details to come!

Your link above does not go directly to the piece written by Jim Vaillancourt. And, I would want to know more. I have pulled in custom segments and Google Ads is not serving to them. I find that targeted audiences that are big enough to serve but still small by Google standards do not work. I would love to know more about what is actually working in this regard.

  • @Jim_Lionhurst - any chance that you have anything you'd like to share? Our original link is broken sadly!

Here is the correct link: https://6sense.com/resources/orchestration-engagement/how-to-use-6sense-with-google-ads

Custom segments can be tricky for search campaigns. You will need significant audience sizes to drive any sort of volume given that the user must search a targeted keyword.
