Last Exit Node in Workflow - Need Help
Hi all,
I am wondering how people are finishing the last exit node in their workflows.
I am currently working on a workflow audiance: Potential Customer - Not in CRM
I am trying to decide whether my last exit node for my Decision Purchase stage, but low intent, should be on the timer node with "do nothing" or an action node "remove from campaign," and, after the timer node, remove them from that campaign and recycle.
For high-intent, I have them added to a Marketo static list, so if they have not filled out the form on the landing page, we purchase the lead.
I have attached a screenshot to help explain.
I am trying to figure out if I need the last action node for the workflow to recycle.

Hi Jessie -
Thanks for the question. When you leverage “Do Nothing” on the timer, it will only end their path in the workflow. It will not remove them from the campaign. If your goal is to stop advertising to those low-intent accounts, you would want to place a Remove node after the timer.
Also, make sure you have a separate Remove node attached to each campaign path. Multiple paths cannot lead into a single remove node, so each campaign journey needs its own corresponding remove step. See examples here:
For display engagement, two days is usually a pretty short window to expect interaction, so you may want to consider giving that a little more time depending on the volume you are seeing. For future guidance on workflow strategy, you can also reference our RevCity resource here:1 -
Hi @Jessie Perkins,
I manage the Monthly Workflow Reviews that Stephanie linked above. I agree with her point that two days is too short to expect interaction/engagement. It's not impossible but a window of 30/45 days is much more common range to try and get engagement before removing from the campaign.
