Use Company Identification API separately

Can I request the 6sense Company Identification API by providing an IP address as the input param in one of the microservices used on the website?

This document https://api.6sense.com/docs/#company-identification-api does not provide the details. It shows that the response can only be fetched on the client side. Is it possible the data can be retrieved on the server side using an API call?

    Yes server-side integration of company Identification API accepts IP as input. The public doc doesn't mention it because server side implementation is

    1. Mainly partner use case but Product approval is required based on the customer use case and API calls volume estimation.
    2. Requires Server IP addresses, from where they will call the API, of the customer to be whitelisted.
    3. Server-side API document is available after point 1 is done.

    Also, If you already have webtag implementation on your website, then you can use the API data available in the browser data collection

    Rachel Zerilla - With client side implementation , we notice that 6sense API key is being exposed in client side, which is security issue.

    does 6Sense have any kind of whitelisting or security on that token? Or what type of security around it or does it have to be managed by us.

    Hey Pradeep, this is Bharat Singh and I lead the product team responsible for APIs. I thought to chime in here and also offer to connect with you directly over zoom. Please find my contact info on my profile.

    Company ID API is a client side API by design to unlock use cases like visitor de-anonymization, website personalization, etc. By design, the API has to be invoked by the browser and hence the current configuration. We do have protection against someone copying your API token and invoking the API on your behalf. In addition, we give additional customizations on the data response that you can manage from your API token management page. More info in our KB article.

    I have a very specific interest in using the Company Identification API on the ServerSide. My goal is to render everything SSR, and make segmented requests to the content API based on the feedback from the IP address. I see it is possible. Can someone point me to more details? Our site currently uses the tool ClientSide, and I am working to make the tool more pivotal in our Personalized Performance rendering project.
