Wednesday Wisdom: The Imaginary Buyer at the Heart of Our Ineffective Marketing

Love this one from @Kerry! 👉 The Imaginary Buyer at the Heart of Our Ineffective Marketing

Buying is so much more complex than we often portray it — and when you put yourself in those buying shoes, so many things become blindly obvious. Do you fill out forms? I avoid them whenever I can. Would you commit your company to a multi-hundred-thousand-dollar purchase because a BDR emailed you ten times? Me neither. If you had a real business need, would you leave it to ChatGPT to tell you what to buy and who from? That's a no from me - at least not yet.

B2B buyers aren’t some fictional characters we invent for campaign decks — they’re people, just like us, with real histories, preferences, and pressures. Yet too much of the content and campaigns we build are for that fictional version of "the buyer".

Kerry's piece is a great reminder!
