When do Audience Workflows use Data Credits? Here's a Quick Guide


We’re excited to introduce Intelligent Workflows, which will be included in your 6sense ABM instance in the coming months! Audience Workflows (part of Intelligent Workflows) allows you to coordinate marketing programs that touch a variety of channels. Depending on the depth and complexity of the workflows you build, you may be required to use credits or segments from your contracted allotment. One of the most common questions we hear is:
“When does this use up my Data Credits?”
The short answer: it depends on the node!
Audience Workflows helps you automate actions based on your 6sense segments, but not every action you take will consume credits. Here’s a simple breakdown to help you navigate credit usage like a pro.
Decision Nodes = No Credits Required
Good news! Decision nodes don’t consume credits. Use them freely to build logic into your workflows without worrying about dipping into your credit bank.
When it comes to Action nodes, some will tap into your credits, while others pull from your segment sync allotment. Here’s how it shakes out:
Action Nodes that DO consume credits:
Purchase Contact node
When you’re buying net-new contacts directly within your workflow, this will use credits. Makes sense—you’re purchasing valuable data!
Create Account node
Similarly, creating accounts through a workflow will also use credits, as you’re actively expanding your database.
Action Nodes that use your Segment Sync allotment:
Push to LinkedIn
Push to Google
Push to Meta
These nodes sync your audiences directly with your paid media platforms. While they don’t consume credits, they will count against your segment sync allotment, so keep that in mind as you plan your workflows.
FAQs:
Can I use Orchestrations Credits in IWF? Data Credits are flexible and apply to multiple 6sense applications whereas Orchestrations Credits are only applicable to Orchestrations. Therefore, Orchestrations Credits cannot be used in IWF.
How can I get more Data Credits? Reach out to your 6sense CSM to discuss adding Data Credits.
I have a super complex workflow I want to run through 6sense. Can I do it? Most likely you can! Your CSM can help you with the setup of a workflow and if you need to go deep on the strategy behind what you’re trying to accomplish, consider engaging with our Strategic Services team.
Is it possible to create an Audience Workflow without encroaching on any segment syncs or Data Credits? Yes! The following list of Action Nodes do not require either Data Credits or Segment Syncs:
- Push to 6sense Display Ads
- Push to Conversational Email
- Push to Marketo Static List
- Push to Salesforce Campaign
- Push to SEP Cadence
- Remove Audience
