The Segment Report offers an easy way to get lists of the accounts defined within 6sense Segments.

Key Features

  • Downloads of accounts per Segment
  • Download function has a filter to report only on accounts in CRM
  • Download of accounts in CRM gives the 6sense ID, CRM Account ID and the CRM Account Name

Use Case Summary

  • Download the list of accounts within a Segment
  • Manage duplicates within the download account list

Download the list of accounts within a Segment

To get the list of accounts in a spreadsheet, do the following:

  1. Select Segments in the left-hand nav and then select the target Segment.
  2. Select the Download button in the upper right-hand corner of the report.
  3. Prior to downloading, the system will ask if you want to see all accounts (6sense plus CRM) or only the accounts in CRM.

Manage duplicates in the downloaded account list

If you download accounts that are in CRM, be aware that the file may show what might appear to be duplicate entries. This is a result of the account having multiple CRM Account IDs mapped to a single 6sense ID.

In the image above, you will see the same 6sense ID on lines 5, 6 and 7. The account is separated into 3 unique CRM IDs shown in column A that map to a single 6sense ID in column B.

In cases where you would like to know how many unique accounts are in the segment without CRM duplication, you can take the steps below in Excel.

  1. Select Data from the menu at the top of Excel
  2. Select the Remove Duplicates icon
  3. Unselect all accounts and then select 6sense ID

This will remove rows with duplicated 6sense IDs.

@Dave DiMillo This is incredibly helpful for those of us looking to solve mismatch issues between 6sense and our CRM.

@Dave DiMillo Is there a good way to search by the 6sense ID?

I've pulled a broad list of accounts and noticed that many don't have a website field. It doesn't seem like I can search the 6sense ID to identify the account the agency is being associated with.

  • You can send me your spreadsheet at dave.dimillo@6sense.com and I can look at that for you.

Will do, @Dave DiMillo. I'm going to need some time to pare it down. I'm using this method to identify issues in our Salesforce that we can fix and I'm examining the entirety of our accounts.
