Metric Monday: How many BDRs use AI tools, and how do they feel about it?
In our latest BDR survey research, we included a few questions about AI to understand if, and how, BDRs are currently using AI tools in their jobs. Nearly 40% of respondents reported using a least one AI-based tool, with Call Transcription and Email Writing tools being the most popular. We also examined attitudes toward these tools, finding that nearly two-thirds of BDRs view them positively, believing that they make the role more productive. Of the 34.5% that do not believe they make the job more productive; most (25.7%) do not think they are a meaningful factor and a small minority (8.9%) feel they are a threat to the future of the role.

So far so good for BDR's view of AI, and I am with them. I do not see AI as a replacement for BDRs any more than I do as a replacement for sellers. There are parts of the BDR job that absolutely should be automated (emailing), but that will make them function more productive overall.
