Hi there,

If an account is no longer in a published segment in 6sense (for example, it's a stage-based segment and the account changes stages), does that segment name get removed from the account record in SFDC?

    Hi Charlotte,

I'm checking with my team on this and will reply as soon as I have an update.

  • Hi Charlotte,

The only way accounts in your SFDC instance will have segment names removed is if your Push segment name orchestration has the setting Push Segment Names to all Salesforce Accounts selected.

Here's a link to a KB article that says this is the recommended setting.

I have a related question. If I want to push a specific segment name to the matching accounts in SFDC and the Segment is not "published", then what does the Published Segments section of the orchestration mean by this below? Does this mean that if an Account is in a published segment, then you can't push a different segment name into the mapped Segment Name field in SFDC? Or does this mean that a segment has to be "Published" to be able to push the Segment Name into SFDC?

    Currently Published Segments
Any segments published or unpublished would affect his orchestration and your records. This list of published segments can be updated within Settings -> Published Segment at any time by those with requisite permissions.

Thanks @Dave Rivera ! I did some testing and confirmed this worked for me. The segment name field was updated whenever I pushed the orchestration again - and accounts moved in and out of segments quite seamlessly.

And @dlee_alertlogic a segment has to be published in order to show up in the Segment Name field in SFDC. If an account is in multiple published segments, it will separate them with a semicolon.

So for one of my accounts thats in 2 published segments it says for example: US ICP; Tier 1 Decision Stage

Thanks for bringing this up, @charlotte.spangler! I've been looking for this answer and couldn't find anything within official documentation. 🙏
