Looking for a Work-Around: Segment Upload Not Yielding a Matchable Account

Hey y'all, I hope all is well.

Today we attempted to create a segment via "Upload an Account List" - one of our accounts did not match, however we were able to search and find this account in 6sense.

We have tried several ways to add this found account to our segment (equals name, contains name, equals domain, etc.) but nothing has worked.

Has anyone ever run into this issue? Is there a way to add this account to our segment?

    Also related, is it possible the name of the account changed and we should be adding a different account name/domain? Is there a way to see the history of an account? TIA

  • Hi @sydneyp ! Thank you for your patience in our response :)

    In regards to finding an account but it not appearing in an account list match: this may occur when an account is marked invalid within 6sense, meaning we do have a record of it in our database, but it is not currently deemed active. If this is the case, when you click into the account record, you will notice a caution sign that notes "This page is invalid as of x date." For more details, see here: 6sense Company Accounts

    You cannot view the history of an account within 6sense, and we would not expect frequent changes that require you to look for different account name/domains.

    Assuming the accounts in your list are active, the steps you took should work! Filtering by company website would return the most accurate results. From there, you could join together multiple segments using the Other > Accounts in Segment filter and including the list upload segment alongside the one-off segments.

    If this process persists, please submit a support ticket!

    Thank you so much @michael_nichols, I'm optimistic that maybe the account I was looking at at the time is no longer active (I actually don't remember the account at this point).

    I'll follow up with a support ticket if I see this happen without the caution sign- but also wanted to ask for the resource you provided above "6sense Company Accounts" - when I attempt to access this link the page is not found. Can you check this link and send over if there is a new asset I can look at?
