Proceed with Confidence: Stepping Into A New Role

What a great way to see the Proceed with Confidence theme from Breakthrough 22 in action in our personal and professional lives with these Proceed with Confidence posts! I have recently taken on more responsibility at work, and while I'm thrilled about the opportunity - I was initially scared.

Scared that colleagues wouldn't be receptive to my ideas.

Scared that people wouldn't see the value of growing the program. 

Scared that I would fall short. 

A quote from Saima Rashid's presentation at Breakthrough stuck with me, "Ideas are easy - execution is everything." 

With this in mind, I began reaching out to team members and had great discussions on their perspectives and how to accelerate the program. Everyone was willing to jump on calls and stay late to give me their honest feedback, ideas and point of view. 

From there, I hit the ground running. I created a game plan and shared it with the program leaders, who are supportive and excited to see our community blossom. Through my colleagues and supportive manager, I found my confidence. 

Today, I feel inspired and fired up for the future - and excited to see what's on the horizon.
