Alerts Showing the Same Accounts

We have weekly alerts set up for many of our sales reps (internal and external). I have heard from several sales reps that the accounts showing in their weekly alert are the same week to week. Has anyone experienced this and have any tips or considerations for having new accounts show up in the alerts to make them more actionable?

@Jenny Charanza I talked to one of our Sales Development Managers, @Van Miner, and he recommends you look at how your alerts are configured along with your filter preferences. Also, double check that the filter is setup to only show relevant accounts to your dashboard. 😎

Thanks for the reply, Kimberly! Appreciate it. So we have alerts set up by our operations admin. Here's how we have it set up:
The segment has 39 accounts in it > In our full market segment, in certain states, in purchase / decision stage and strong profile fit. This way they get alerts on the top in market accounts.
The alert sends once a week and does not have any filters. It is only pulling from the segment. Any other thoughts as to why they keep seeing the same accounts over and over. You'd think with nearly 40 accounts the accounts would somewhat fluctuate from week to week and not show the same 10 repeatedly.1 -
Hi @Jenny Charanza ! I work with our customers setting up alerts during Onboarding. One suggestion would be to set more stringent filters for your alert setup. Rather than being alerted on all keyword intent, or any web visits, narrow to more critical keywords (like competitive research) and high value web pages (like a contact us page - think abandoned form fill). This may help switch up the accounts a bit. That said, 39 accounts is a small segment so we likely will only see so much fluctuation. Keep in mind that if those accounts appear week to week, it's because they continue to show those buying signals and remain in market.

Hi Gina! Thanks for the reply. I worry that being even more specific to your point will cause the segment to be even smaller and then would definitely keep showing the same accounts. I do think to your point also maybe those accounts appear week to week because they continue to show the same hot buying signals and being in-market. I'll continue to think it through but that may just be what it is. Thanks!

@Jenny Charanza That was my first thought. If they're continually showing up, are they being worked?
What I'm trying to ask is: Is sales concerned about the alerts because they're actively working these accounts and they want even more to work? Or are they just passively viewing these alerts and brushing them off because it's the same thing over and over again?

I am not 100% sure but I lean towards that it is the last point - that sales is passively viewing these alerts and brushing them off b/c of the same accounts showing up in them. Also, I did get a few sales reps notify me that they no longer want to see some accounts in their alerts anymore b/c they either aren't valid for them anymore or they are top of mind and no longer want to see them called out - for this I am creating exclusion lists for each rep as needed (so hoping this also changes up the alerts to relevant accounts). Thanks again for your help.
