6sense Contact Emails: Validation, Best Practices, and Expectations

6sense Email Validation- All individual, contact level 6sense email addresses go through an email validation process and get sorted into Valid emails, Catch-all, and Invalid emails. Invalids are removed and catch all emails go through additional validation steps to determine deliverability. Catch-all email addresses—also known as accept-all emails —are email addresses belonging to a catch-all mail server. These email addresses accept messages sent to any address with the same domain name, even those that don’t exist such as ones that are made up or contain typos. This is where 6sense uses our proprietary 3-step email validation process to determine deliverability and maximize low bounce rates. 

 

6sense Email Grade Assignments- After going through our proprietary 3-step email validation process, emails are assigned confidence grades based on the number of validation steps they have passed. Emails that have passed 3 levels of validation are assigned A+ scores, emails that pass 2 levels of validation are assigned A scores, and emails that pass 1 level of validation are assigned B scores.  

 

6sense Email Data Refresh- Our email validation process is run monthly to ensure low bounce rates. When a position with a new company is detected, old emails for that contact are removed. All 6sense emails go through a monthly validation which results in changing grades and removal of invalids.  

 

6sense Expected Email Bounce Rates-  

A+ Emails  have an expected 10% or lower bounce rate 

A Emails have an expected 20% or lower bounce rate 

B Emails are considered moderate confidence emails  

 

Best Practices for Leveraging 6sense Emails- We recommend 6sense users prioritize high confidence emails (A+ and A) and use B emails once they’ve exhausted the available A+ and A emails. 

 

How to Check for Email Bounce Rates- 

The best way to ensure 6sense emails are meeting the bounce expectations described above is to run isolated lists of emails, split by email grade, through an email bounce tool or through your SEP or marketing automation software. If running through an SEP or Marketing Automation software, make sure to check if the bounces are related to the email sender being blocked or the emails themselves being invalid.
