Hi,

Do you know if there is a way to create a segment based off an account moving from one stage to another? For example, an account moving from decision to buying and vice versa?

Thanks,

Randall

  • Hi Randall! One way I have done this is to create the segment of accounts in 'Decision' stage, export those accounts into a CSV, then import the CSV file as a new segment into a static list (let's call it 'Segment 1-Decision'). That way the accounts that were in Decision stage are isolated and no longer dynamically moving in/out of the segment.

From there, you can monitor which accounts move into different buying stages by looking at that segment. Or you could create another new segment to 'catch' the accounts moving into your desired buying stage. The logic would look like this: Accounts in Segment = Segment 1-Decision AND Buying Stage = Purchase. So only accounts that were in your original segment and had progressed to Purchase stage would show up in this new segment.

Hope that helps! Anyone else have suggestions that have worked for them?

Thanks, What I eventually wish to do is create an alert based off the accounts that change stages.

  • Hi @Randall Tam! You can configure your segment alerts to reflect this- here's a KB article for more information https://support.6sense.com/knowledge-base/1500005618561-6sense-alerts/

The article shows we can only get alerts for Hot Accounts, not newly in a stage unless I'm missing a piece?

@Lauren Johnson, 6sense 's approach is what I would use as well

If you have SFDC connected, you could probably create some reports + alerts there, and add a new field with date stamps for when an account reached a stage

@Randall Tam -- something that's worked for me in the past is if you're exporting the scores daily, including buying stage, to your CRM (preferable Salesforce) -- you can turn on historical tracking for the 6sense Account Buying Stage field then build an Accounts History report to show the previous value, new value and current value. This worked really well when we built ABX dashboards before 6sense rolled out 6QA tracking and functionality.
