The AI Email Use Case I Keep Coming Back To: Mission Cloud, a CDW Company

I work in customer marketing at 6sense, which means I spend a lot of time inside our customer stories. This is one I come back to when someone asks: "What about event follow-up? We always fall behind."

Every team falls behind on event follow-up. Mission Cloud, a CDW Company, found a way not to.

The problem: Mission Cloud sponsors large conferences that can generate over 10,000 leads in a matter of days. Their human BDRs can't get to all of them fast enough — and slow follow-up after events means cold leads and missed pipeline. Even if they prioritized just the hottest 10%, that wouldn't be sustainable at the volume the business demanded.

What they did: They deployed a 6sense AI Email Agent named "Mia" to handle event follow-up at scale. Mia doesn't take lunch breaks, doesn't get overwhelmed after a conference, and doesn't need to triage — she just works the list. After their initial success, Mission Cloud expanded Mia's remit beyond events into ongoing lead nurture, using AI Email to keep prospects warm through three or four personalized touchpoints before looping in a human consultant.

What happened:

  • 4,000 high-quality leads reached
  • 99% reach rate
  • 66% open rate
  • 3% response rate
  • 2% lead qualification rate
  • 150+ hours of work saved

Dina Otero, VP of Demand Generation at Mission Cloud:

"Time is of the essence for event follow-up. It's not like sending a marketing message. It's written and devised like it's a person reaching out."

"Even if our BDRs contacted the 'hot leads' — even if it's just 10% of leads — it simply wouldn't be sustainable."

Worth reading if: Events are a major pipeline source for your team and follow-up is always a scramble. The playbook Mission Cloud built — AI handles the volume, human steps in when it's time to move the conversation forward — is exactly the kind of human-AI handoff model that actually works.

Event follow-up is one of those things every team knows they should do better and almost no one does consistently. How is your team handling the volume problem after big events? AI agent? BDR rotation? Something else?
